Laboratory Rocky Mountain Geochemical Laboratories
Description 456 samples were dried and sieved to -80 mesh. 456 samples were tested for cold extractable metals in the field following methods in University of Alaska Mining Extension Bulletin No. 3 or USGS Bulletin 1152. The method uses a cold sodium chloride solution as the extractor and a dithizone dye solution as the detector without adjusting for pH. See publication for amount of ml of dye used in the field analysis. 456 samples were prepped and sent to three different labs for analysis as a check on lab work. Some of the samples were previously analyzed (1964) by the same labs listed here. Rocky Mountain Geochemical Laboratory did most of the work with help from US Bureau of Mines. The Division of Mines and Minerals analyzed 1964 samples (see Geochemical Report 1) but not 1965 samples. There is no indication in the tables which labs analyses were used in the publication nor the methods applied by the individual labs.

Laboratory Rocky Mountain Geochemical Laboratories
Description 597 samples were dried and sieved to -80 mesh. 1964 and 1965 samples were tested for cold extractable metals in the field following methods in University of Alaska Mining Extension Bulletin No. 3 or USGS Bulletin 1152. 1966 samples were also tested in the field but which method was followed is not indicated. See publication for amount of ml of dye used in the field analysis. 188 samples (1964 and 1965) were previously analyzed (see Geochemical Report 6). 409 samples were prepped and sent to Rocky Mountain Geochemical Laboratory and analyzed for copper, lead, zinc, molybdenum and nickel. There is no indication in the tables which methods were used to analyze the samples.
